Reductil is used in weight loss management. It reduces calorie intake and increases resting metabolic rate by inhibitingserotonin and noradrenaline reuptake.
Reductil may be taken with or without food. Its daily recommended dose is between 10 – 15mg once daily. As Reductil may cause drowsiness or dizziness, you are advised not to drive or operate heavy machineries until you know how it affects you.
You should discuss with your doctor if you are at child bearing age or intend to become pregnant during treatment with Reductil. Appropriate contraceptive methods should be employed if required. Reductil should not be used if you are breastfeeding as it is unknown whether sibutramine or its metabolites are excreted in breast milk.
